Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the lack of updates this week. My computer crashed taking most of my data and pictures with it. Since I can't afford a new computer, I spent this whole week trying to recover data and fix it. I promise that more otter pictures will be up soon! Thanks for your patience.
Peter
Update: My backups of my main computer have been unsuccessful but I'm now using an older computer for web access. Should have new otter posts soon!

Kristina sent in these great otter pictures taken on her vacation in Seattle last year.

Jon sent me this picture of a very flexible otter curious about a plastic fish.
Jon writes: I'm particularly fond of the one featuring the adult otter (North American river otter? It's hard to tell) and its interest in the plastic fish. Maybe there's a potential new spectator sport here that could replace greyhound racing?
Here's a video of Jasper, another sea otter who was moved to the Minnesota Zoo along with Rocky.
It looks like Rocky arrived safely at the Minnesota Zoo (click here for previous story)! This video shows Rocky munching on some ice.

Ride on the otter tummy!
Bree sent in this great picture taken at the New England Carousel Museum.
Bree writes: The sign said no photos but the gentleman who led our tour said it was alright to take pictures. I took this photo of one of the displays. He’s not painted yet but is already quite a handsome otter.

Vanessa sent me this a while ago and I forgot to post it earlier.
From the BBC: The sun in shining and the Amazon Abyss spotters are out looking for a family of otters. Luckily, they find a relaxed young family saved from being hunted for their fur through the work of keen biologists. Great clip from BBC wildlife documentary, Amazon Abyss.
I just stumbled across this adorable video of a badger and otter who are friends and then I found out that it had been mentioned on Cute Overload back in January! Scooped again!
From Secret World Wildlife Rescue: Two wildlife orphans that have been hand-reared at Secret World Wildlife Rescue in Somerset, England.
Secret World is the only 24/7 wildlife rescue centre in the south-west of England, and annually cares for over 3000 wild animals.
The otter cub in the video was an orphan that was placed in a group of badger orphans whilst being hand reared. Once the hand rearing had been finished, the group were split up so that the badgers could learn how to do badger things, and the otter could learn how to do otter things! All wildlife cared for at Secret World, including the orphans, are done so so with the end goal to release them back into the wild

Here are some more pictures of the baby otters from the Osaka Aquarium. Hopefully a few of you might actually live in or near Osaka and can visit them!
