There's an adorable new rescued sea otter pup at Sea World in San Diego. Found in Monterey, this pup will now be cared for at Sea World since due to medical problems she was deemed unreleasable. It'll probably be a while before she joins the main exhibit but hopefully I'll be able to catch a glimpse of her in the care center behind the main otter exhibit when I visit Sea World next week.
I have wanted to visit Vancouver for so many years and I still haven't had the time to go. After seeing these playful otters at Stanley Park I want to go even more.
If you're lucky enough to live near the Vancouver aquarium, be sure to visit them from Friday, September 23 to Sunday, November 6 for their Rescue Stories. You can learn about their rescue work and meet rescued animals like Tanu the sea otter.
Here's some nice footage of a sea otter chomping down on an octopus. Otters can eat 25 to 30 percent of their body so this big octopus should hold him over for a while.
I've always thought that otters were the cutest animal on the earth so I thought I'd dedicate a whole web site to them. This site is also to bring awareness of sea otters being on the endangered species list. If you have any otter pictures or video to submit, read the FAQ.
